Santa Barbara City Invites Public Participation During October Water Vision Month

The City of Santa Barbara is developing a comprehensive water supply plan, called Water Vision Santa Barbara to help deliver a reliable, resilient, cost-effective, and environmentally safe water supply that serves the varied needs of the community for the next 30 years. To reflect broad community values in the plan, the City has designated October as Water Vision Month. Throughout October, residents can participate in a range of virtual activities where they can express their views, learn about, and inform the Water Vision.

“We wanted this process to be as transparent as possible, with opportunities for us to hear the community’s needs and reflect them in the final plan,” said Joshua Haggmark, Water Resources Manager for the City of Santa Barbara. “Water Vision Month is offered to extend those opportunities as widely as possible, in a virtual setting in light of the challenges our community is facing with COVID-19.”

Water Vision Month kicks off with virtual Lunch and Learns led by City staff running daily from Monday, October 5 through Friday, October 9. All Lunch and Learns will be offered in English and Spanish, and recordings of all sessions will be published on the City’s website following the live events.
