Saddle Rock Trail Hike

By Patti
The hiking trails are now open with a "hike at your own risk" warning. We did Saddle Rock trail on Friday and WOW what a difference since the fire and mud flow. It was a good feeling to be able to hike again, we were surprised that there were lots of people hiking too. And yes be very careful lots of loose rocks on the trail.

May 28, 2018 03:36 PMThanks A-1527544751 for the link to Ray Ford's article - lots of good information there, including...
"Thanks to quick work by the Montecito Trails Foundation, county parks has reopened the Wiman and Old Pueblo trails. These trails provide a connection to San Ysidro Canyon, the McMenemy Trail and the upper part of San Ysidro Canyon."
"...new trail closure signs have been posted at many of the popular front country trailheads, including those in Cold Spring, Hot Springs, San Ysidro and Buena Vista canyons. It is unclear when these closures might be lifted but that will not likely be soon."

May 27, 2018 06:37 PMI hiked up Romero in February. No issues then.
I drove up there from Ladera a couple of weeks ago. There was construction at where the creek crosses the Bella Vista, blocking a drive through. There may be limits to access now.
