Yes, I've noticed this fall the inversion layer over the city has been very atypical. As seen from the Riviera there have been some really fantastical/eerie night-time views towards TV hill with very low/flat banks of fog playing with the lights.
Last evening, Nov 30, the inversion layer was about ~500 ft at 4pm. Cool and wet below, warm, dry, and toasty above. Late afternoon today, it rose to 800 ft or so, and was quite dense.
