Residents in a four-unit apartment complex off Turnpike have been displaced following an early Thursday morning fire.

At 12:49 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the 4800 block of San Gordiano Ave in Santa Barbara.

Crews witnessed smoke coming from the two-story complex and evacuated all residents.

A 2nd Alarm was initiated to pull in more resources for assistance, including Santa Barbara City firefighters.

It took crews just over an hour to fully knock down the fire that spread to most apartment units, including the attic space.

There were no injuries reported and the cause is under investigation.

Crews will remain on the scene for overhaul and cleanup. The Red Cross also responded to provide aid for the displaced residents.
