On Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, at about 2027 hours, Santa Maria Police and Fire personnel were dispatched to a home in the 400 block of West Street to a report of an adult male suffering from an unknown type of injury. Santa Maria Fire Department personnel were the first to arrive on scene, at which time they located an adult male suffering from visible trauma. Despite life saving efforts the victim died from his injuries.
Santa Maria Police Detectives have ruled the subject’s death as suspicious. The investigation is continuing. Additional information related to this investigation will be shared as it becomes available.
SMPD Detectives are asking for residents in the surrounding area to check surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity.
