Rode my bike up to La Cumbre peak to check out the piano. Where I was joined by this cute rat!

So you think the dictionary is trash. No surprise there.

JQB- why don't you pick up some trash instead of just talking it

Placed there by Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson of the Piano Guys. Check them out on U Tube. The little mouse is really cute but, the little devils will get in and chew the strings.

FLICKA, I spend a lot of time up on ECC and there are numerous "viewing spots" where sofas, arm chairs, and other "cool" things were placed and then discarded...what was cool is now trash over the side on our beautiful mountain side. Don't be so quick to be a nay sayer..... do your self a favor and visit several of the look outs on ECC....disappointing.

This is not discarded trash, there is even a stool so one can sit while playing it and the guys that put it there will be taking it back down. As I stated before it's like the pianos on State street. My wife played it for over 1/2 an hour last week. All but a few of the lower keys are in tune.

What a wonderful treat to find a piano up there, especially if you can play it. Of course, there has to be a "critic" about an artistic statement of a "live" piano out in public. Futons, TVs, Microwaves soon to be added?? Must feel miserable to be so pessimistic, always looking for the black side.

What is the route for this ride by the way?

Great photos, great ride! (I've done it ... not easy.) Everything about that Sep 19, 2017 01:00 PM comment is wrong. The risk of getting bubonic plague from a live mouse is minute.

Yep, you're much more likely to be stung by a scorpion and while you're freaking out in the middle of the road be run over by a tweaker in an RV running from the park ranger for having a meth lab down in the flat. That's right.... bubonic plague is less likely than that!!

Hahaha. Yes. Leave your unwanted piano up on the mountain. Nevermind that it will soon deteriorate and become an unplayable piece of junk and have to be hauled away by the County. What's next? How about those unwanted big screen TVs and unwanted sofas? Why not leave some unwanted file cabinets and and a futon or two? What a "grand" idea indeed. (Bubonic plague? Thanks for my laugh for the day.)

Take a chill pill...the person in charge will be taking it away just like they did last year. Kind of like the ones on State every year. It was all on the down low as before then KEYT aired the story.

Thank you to whoever put the piano there. We went up to witness the recent lightening storm, played (badly) and had a grand time.

Nice photos. Your visitor is a pinyon mouse per wikipedia. Did he show when you played the piano?

Yes, nice photos. Cute rat = yes. Cute rat if infected with bubonic plague = no.

Great photos! In case anyone missed it, someone lugged a piano up there under the cover of night. http://www.keyt.com/lifestyle/piano-placed-at-la-cumbre-peak-in-santa-barbara/607027781
