Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Amtrak in Montecito

A pedestrian has died after being struck by an Amtrak train in Montecito on Tuesday evening.

The southbound Pacific Surfliner was passing by Channel Drive around 6:30 p.m. when it struck an adult male.

Montecito Firefighters and Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene where the man was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity has yet to be released.

This is an ongoing investigation.

  1. Condolences to the family and may he rest in peace. This seems to be happening very frequently in our city now, people are being killed from trains, car accidents, violence and DUI’s. Please be careful out there I know things can get tough, but there is mental health help for those who need it and don’t drink and drive use and UBER.
