Two Arrested in Early Morning Assault

On December 9, 2019 at 12:18 A.M., Santa Barbara Police Officers responded to 300 Block of East Carrillo Street to investigate a report of intoxicated subjects arguing on the rooftop of an apartment building. 

Upon arrival to the roof, officers found Ashely Jolene Hamon Sharkey, age 35, and a 57-year-old male victim, engaged in a physical altercation with Christopher Huntfox, age 32.  Further investigation revealed that Sharkey and the male victim confronted Huntfox regarding an alleged incident earlier in the evening.

During the confrontation, Huntfox assaulted the male victim causing significant injuries. 

Santa Barbara Fire and medics responded to the roof and worked to stabilize the victim. He was transported to Cottage Hospital.

Sharkey, a Santa Barbara resident, was charged with resisting a police officer and attempting to destroy evidence.

Christopher Alexander Huntfox, also a Santa Barbara resident, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Both Huntfox and Sharkey were transported to Santa Barbara County Jail.

The investigation remains on-going.
