Montecito Firefighters Rescue Dog from Creek

By the edhat staff

Montecito Firefighters rescued a 14-year-old dog who was stuck in San Ysidro Creek on Saturday morning.

At 10:30 a.m., firefighters recieved a call from a local family whose dog did not return home after his normal time outside. The family went in search and found their dog, Wilson, stuck in the creek.

Firefighters responded to the area and were able to lift and carry Wilson out of the creek without injuries.

He was safely returned to his family.

  1. Wow, reading this article I thought, finally, something people will get a laugh and be happy about. An aged dog wandering off, getting stuck, getting rescued. Told with humor. It seems like every single thing that happens now to people (and even animals) is an opportunity to judge and get self-righteous. I’ve been wishing the Urban Hikers would come back to Edhat, but probably even their fun reports on all the things they came across on their rambles would be fodder for some kind of finger-pointing. I’m very happy this old doggy got rescued. May he lie in a warm spot indoors and be loved.
