Missing At-Risk Juvenile and Infant

On Wednesday, August 27, 2020, at about 6:30 pm, Elena Garcia (17 yrs.) & her 6 month daughter, Paola Ponce Garcia, were found safely in San Miguel, CA; Ponce was not with them at the time. SMPD is continuing to investigate the relationship between Elena and Jaime Ponce.

SMPD is seeking assistance from the community in locating a missing juvenile and her infant child. Elena Garcia (17 yrs.) & her 6 month daughter, Paola Ponce Garcia, were last seen on Sunday night, August 23, 2020 in the 1500 Blk. of S. Wallis. Elena Garcia and her child are believed to be in the company of Jaime Ponce (30 yrs.), the alleged father of the child. Elena is described as Hispanic, 4’11”, approx. 110 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Elena Garcia, Paola Garcia, or Jaime Ponce is strongly encouraged to contact the Santa Maria Police Department at (805) 928-3781, ext. 2277.

  2. Hope the young woman and her baby are safe.
    By the way, there is a child care facility at Santa Barbara High School, judgy ones. Young women used to have to hide away in disgrace and quit school should they become pregnant. I think things are a little better now.
