The Coroner’s Bureau is releasing the name of the decedent from the vehicle v. pedestrian fatal traffic crash on 7/30/22 in the 600-block of W. Ocean in Lompoc. The decedent is 42-year-old Raquel Zapata of Lompoc.

| On 07/30/2022, at approximately 0149 hours, LPD Officers were dispatched to a traffic collision involving a vehicle vs pedestrian in the 600B of West Ocean Ave. When Officers arrived, they located a 42 year old female on the roadway and it appeared she had been struck by a vehicle. She was transported to an area Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The suspected driver of the vehicle that struck the victim was located nearby and was found to be DUI and taken into custody. This is an on-going investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the LPD at (805) 736-2341. The victims name is being withheld pending notification to next of kin. | |||
