Re: People v. Noe Herrera; Case No. 1490519

District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced [Friday] that Noe Herrera, 33, of Lompoc, California, will be sentenced to 24 years to life in state prison for the January 20, 2015 murder of Salvador Juarez Hernandez, and in a separate case an assault on Mr. Herrera’s mother.

Mr. Herrera pled guilty to one count of murder under Penal Code section 187(a), and one count of attempted murder under Penal Code section 664/187(a).

“Once again,” stated District Attorney Joyce Dudley, “the Lompoc Police Department did an excellent job investigating this case and seeking justice for the victims and their families. Still, the defendant’s acts of extreme violence have had a devastating effect on the victims, their loved ones, and the entire Lompoc community.”

Mr. Herrera will be sentenced on July 24, 2019, in Department 6 of the Santa Maria Superior Court, in front of the Honorable Judge John McGregor.
