Juvenile with a Gun Shot Wound

9:20 p.m., February 11, 2019

Just before 7:00 p.m. tonight, February 11, 2019, Sheriff’s deputies responded to Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital in the City of Goleta to a report of a 17-year-old male juvenile with a single gunshot wound. Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. The gunshot wound does not appear to be life-threatening.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office contracts with the City of Goleta for police services.

  1. Maybe liquor stores here need pass-through vestibules like the liquor stores in states that control anything over a certain proof by requiring you buy it at state-run facilities. Part of the old “Blue Laws”, I think. Anyway, you go into the vestibule and are buzzed in and out, show ID and sign for whatever you buy. (That brings up an interesting question: How they avoid the equivalent of the much-ballyhooed issue of “voter fraud”. There have to be more college kids out there w/”doctored” IDs than voters with them.)
