Juvenile Injured in Santa Maria Shooting

On Thursday, June 1, 2023, at about 7:05 PM, SMPD officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 200 block of E. Main Street (Sears building). Upon arrival, officers located evidence and confirmed that a shooting had occurred.

Officers located a male juvenile victim at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds. The juvenile victim was transported and treated for his injuries and is in stable condition.

The SMPD Detective Bureau responded and took over the investigation. Investigators are actively investigating this incident and believe it to be gang related.

At this point, no one has been arrested in connection to the shooting.
