Interview with the Vampire is Back

By TV Jane

AMC+’s adaptation of the 1994 movie Interview with the Vampire ranks #1 on this week’s streaming chart, according to ReelGood.

Anne Rice’s famed 1976 novel was originally made into the 90s film with Bradd Pitt and Tom Cruise starring as sexy vampires. Now it’s been remade into a show, starring the equally attractive Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid.

Second on the list is Netflix’s movie Luckiest Girl Alive starring part-time Carpinteria resident Mila Kunis and Jennifer Beals. Based on a true story, the film depicts a successful NYC writer whose life starts to unravel when a true-crime documentary forces her to confront her harrowing high school history and question the choices she made as a teenager.

New on the list this week is The Midnight Club at #6, a Netflix thriller series centered around a creepy mansion and teenagers, then another reprise of the terrifying Hellraiser movie franchise at #9 and streaming on Hulu, and the adaptation of Stephen King’s book, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, at #10.

Update to What I’m Watching: I finished Hocus Pocus 2 this week, and wow! I rarely say this about prequels or sequels but this movie is just as good as the original. Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker are as good as ever reprising their roles as the Sanderson Sisters. Although, Bette absolutely knocks it out of the back. The movie is filled with the same amount of Halloween spookiness and mysticism but it also adds a layer of heart showing the sister’s backstory and how they became the most powerful witches in the world. Definitely worth a watch on Disney+ or to rent for family movie night.
