Highway 1 Traffic Delays in Lompoc

By the edhat staff

Caltrans reports one-way traffic control on Highway 1 in Lompoc due to a washout of the roadway.

A portion of the roadway collapsed and washed out during the recent storms.

There is no estimated time of when repairs will be complete.

The emergency repair project is one-half mile north of Jalama Road. Work is expected to take a few weeks to complete, although the duration of time is not confirmed, and full highway closures will be necessary.

Message and directional signs are in place but Caltrans asks motorists to add increased time to their commute due to traffic backups.

The project is expected to cost $3 million and will be completed by Granite Construction.
