On August 5, 2020, Santa Barbara Police Detectives interviewed and arrested 40-year-old Michael Ian Flesher in the City of Oxnard, pursuant to a signed arrest warrant for unlawful sex with a minor and oral copulation with a minor.
The investigation involved possible crimes in Oxnard and Santa Barbara. Flesher is employed as a high school teacher in Oxnard, which granted him access to students. SBPD communicated with Oxnard Police Detectives during the investigation. Flesher was booked in Santa Barbara County Jail for the warrant/charges with a $50,000 bail.
