A van towing a trailer overturned on Highway 101 northbound near El Sueno causing heavy traffic.

At 2:15 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefights responded to the area and found an Econoline van towing a 25-foot trailer had collided into the guardrail. The van jackknifed and rested on top of right shoulder guardrail blocking the number two while the trailer had completely overturned.

The 39-year-old female driver, adult male passenger, and two child passengers were uninjured. The van was en route to the San Francisco Bay Area, said SBCFD Public Information Officer Mike Eliason.

A fuel leak from van spilled onto the roadway causing Santa Barbara City firefighters to hose down the area. CalTrans is on scene as well and CHP is investigating.

There is heavy traffic in the area.
