Deputies Assist Injured Man Near Haskell’s Beach

Source: Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office

Deputies were dispatched early Sunday morning to locate a subject that was screaming for help in the thick brush southwest of the Haskell’s beach parking area. Deputies located the man and determined that he had stepped on a stick and it was impaled in his foot. He could not walk. Deputies, firefighters, and medics carried him out of the brush and medics transported him to the hospital for treatment.

  1. Going barefoot used to be a natural and fun thing to do. As kids, we used to walk barefoot downtown all of the time, even during Fiesta. Can you imagine doing that now? Shudder. With so many careless and inconsiderate people around littering junk, spitting on the sidewalks and everywhere else and with all the human and dog poop and weird parasites and things you can get from dirt paths and fields and even beach sand—–forget it. Wear some comfy shoes and be safe.
