A new nonstop flight destination has arrived at Santa Barbara Airport courtesy of Delta Airlines.

Salt Lake City, Utah can now be added to the list. 

According to airline travel booking websites, flights begin on August 12 with three daily non-stop flights scheduled to Salt Lake City from Santa Barbara.

Currently Santa Barbara Airport offers nonstop flights to the following destinations: Dallas (American Airlines), Denver (United Airlines and Frontier Airlines), Las Vegas (Contour Airlines), Los Angeles (United Airlines), Minneapolis (Sun Country Airlines), Oakland (Contour Airlines), Phoenix (American Airlines), Portland (Alaska Airlines), San Francisco (United Airlines), Seattle (Alaska Airlines).

A formal announcement has yet to be released by the Santa Barbara Airport, but a press conference was scheduled to be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday with city officials.

Anyone in the know - is Delta going with the 717 pictured for this route, or are they sticking with the CRJ/ERJ's?
