At approximately 9:00 a.m. this morning, a Toyota Tacoma pulling a concrete mixer trailer was involved in a solo vehicle collision. The driver of the Toyota, Uriel Hurtado-Sanchez, from Santa Barbara was pulling a trailer beyond the truck’s towing capacity.

The trailer overturned, landing in the #2 and #3 lanes of US 101 north of Garden Street, and cement spilled out of the trailer blocking lanes. California Highway Patrol issued a SIG alert to which Caltrans responded and cleaned the roadway. The #2 and #3 lanes were closed for approximately three hours.

The driver of the Toyota was uninjured and determined not to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
