It is important for the public to understand the risks associated with storms in the area and what to do when evacuation orders are issued. To provide information on future storm risks and evacuation information, the County is holding a community meeting on Tuesday, February 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Carpinteria High School, 4810 Foothill Rd., in the cafeteria. Spanish and ASL interpretation will be available.

Representatives from various agencies will be available for questions after presentations. FEMA and CalOES representatives will be in attendance to assist community members with
long-term recovery needs.

This community meeting will be broadcast live on KEYT Channel 3, streamed online at KEYT.com and KSBY.com, and on the County’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/countyofsb).

As of February 5, the Local Recovery and Assistance Center transitioned to a smaller Disaster Recovery Center staffed by state and federal agencies to aid with long-term recovery. The Disaster Recovery Center is located at 1 N. Calle Cesar Chavez in Santa Barbara. The hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9 a.m to 6 p.m., and Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are closed Sunday. The Center will be open on the President’s Day holiday Monday, February 19.
