Blissful Boutiques Pop Up Holiday Market

By Robert Bernstein

Paseo Nuevo has a new pop-up holiday market thanks to energetic entrepreneur Lisa Green. Lisa Green is also responsible for the outdoor pop up markets at Paseo Nuevo.

The new one is called Blissful Boutiques. What was special for me: An amazing collection of miniature buildings! Here are my photos.

As a child I had a Lionel train set. If you had the money, you could buy to-scale people, cars and buildings to create an entire landscape to go with the train set. I did not have such resources, but I admired them when I saw such miniatures.

Lisa Green has been collecting these pieces for years and they are not for sale. She is just generously sharing them with us in her market space. Here she kindly posed for a photo with some of them.

It is worth taking the time to look at each one. Each one is quite unique and many have hidden surprises. Because of my Lionel train memories, I quickly zeroed in on the Lionel train station!

Here you can see Krispy Kreme doughnuts and an original style McDonalds that I remember from my childhood. Those original McDonalds had no indoor seating.

This car dealer featured the new 1965 Ford Mustang on a rotating display. Another memory of my childhood.

Green is from Alabama and she said the guys on the Harley motorcycles reminded her of her brothers!

Many of the buildings have a Christmas theme. Also notice The Lucky Dragon Chinese Restaurant. Another childhood memory of elaborate Chinese restaurants.

Here was a rural Highway Patrol station.

Here you can buy totem poles and goods imported from China. Back when that was rare and exotic!

Here is another train station.

In the front window of Blissful Boutiques is another entire set of miniatures. She acquired these recently as a large lot in many boxes. This is just a small sample. Not as diverse as the ones inside! Just a teaser!

Green said she has many more miniatures in storage that she has no room to display! I will look forward to seeing more at her future markets!

As we headed out, this family visiting from New York posed in front of the main Christmas Tree at Paseo Nuevo.

We are fortunate to live in a city that is big enough to have so many opportunities, yet small enough to keep a small town feel!
