Edhat readers share photos of five black swans spotted in the Santa Barbara Harbor this week.

It's unclear how the non-native waterbirds arrived in Santa Barbara, but a local rescue team was able to corral the birds and assess them for possible treatment, according to John Palminteri.

There's a long interesting story in the current issue of the Montecito Journal that's at various newsstands, such as Tri-Counties Market. Unfortunately, diSieno showed up at the harbor with crates and captured them. They were inspected at the SBWCN and are placed at a private residence, forever more to live in captivity. ...According to the story diSieno maintained that the harbor water was unhealthy. Not so, it is tested regularly and there are many birds there.
