I live off APS and have never had a problem riding/driving on APS. There is no reason it can’t be safe if everyone obeys the law and shares the road per the DMV rules.
Bad bicycle accidents in the news WEEKLY? I call BS – links please. However, there have been lots of bad auto accidents in the last month (just check Edhat, Noozhawk, and KEYT). Strange that Edhat readers rarely harp on those bad drivers like they do cyclists even though the bad drivers cause way more damage and loss of life.
A month or so ago there was an article that SB got a super high rating as being one of the best bike friendly towns. I had to laugh… what a load of rubbish. I love bicycling, but SB would not be on my list as a safe place to do it. Bad bike accidents are in the news almost weekly. I am sure it was a PR contrived rating system that was trying to promote bikes in SB instead of cars, and/or trying to lure all the millennial tech people to our town. Plus there are a few new bike companies around with different types of urban bikes. Sorry… I love my bike but you aren’t taking away the freedom, ease and safety of having my car. Well, maybe you are with all the parking places being removed by new high density housing projects with little to no parking.
