Assault With a Deadly Weapon in Old Town Goleta

Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred this morning. At 10:00 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of a fight in progress in the area of Hollister and Kellogg. When deputies arrived, they found an adult male victim with serious injuries on Kellogg, north of Hollister. The male suspect fled the area prior to deputies’ arrival. The victim was transported to an area hospital while additional deputies, along with County Air Support and K9 units responded to search for the suspect.

While units continued their search, detectives and crime scene technicians responded to the scene. After over two hours of searching, deputies were unable to locate the suspect and the perimeter roadblocks were released. The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and the suspect were not familiar with each other. The victim is expected to survive.

Sheriff’s are setting up a perimeter and calling in air support there were 2 Hispanic male adult suspects, one running south on Hollister Ave wearing a black hoodie.
