All COVID-19 Positive County Jail Inmates Have Recovered

Source: Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office

As of last Friday, all COVID-19 positive inmates at the Main Jail have recovered from the virus. The Sheriff’s Office remains committed to maintaining a safe environment for our inmates, staff and the community.  Inmates and staff are educated about COVID-19 prevention measures. They are also provided with hygiene and cleaning supplies and encouraged to use them. Masks are issued to all staff and inmates, and addition PPE is made available as needed. Inmates continue to be medically screened during the intake process and are quarantined before being introduced to the general population.

To date, over 5,000 COVID-19 tests have been administered so far. We will continue to periodically conduct surveillance testing of inmates and staff.
