  1. Well my car saids it will go to a speed of 140, with all this analyzation , then 65 is only a recommendation not a law. Or a safer speed. So everyone should just do what they want. Cause their intitled.
Hey I don’t want to get this, but I need to go to the store. So keep me safe.
And I will keep you safe. Stop being selfish

  2. Crystal… you don’t NEED to go to the store. There are plenty of available delivery services to get you what you need. How selfish are you to force other people to stay home, to close their businesses, loose their jobs so you feel safer going to the store when you don’t HAVE TO go to the store. STAY HOME, stay as SAFE as YOU feel you need to, and get anything you wanted delivered. There are plenty of people who’ll be desperate for a job delivering food as soon as the unemployment bonus ends.

  3. Regardless I won’t shop anywhere that doesn’t require masks and distancing while shopping. Most people I know – regardless of “sides” – feels this way so let the market decide. They either lose customers and business or they don’t. Chances are they’ll lose many customers. So let them decide.

  4. We all understand that some people are physically or economically unable to comply with Guidelines. They are directed at people who could cooperate but may be too selfish or stupid to care about others. It’s sad and shameful there are so many of them in the world. (And I don’t mean guidelines.)

  5. Gary M, you don’t understand. For all the damage we’re doing to the economy, combined with the historic level of government stimulus – which has to be paid for by all of us through taxes – we would be way better off, and I’m talking orders of magnitude better off, if we set up a government paid free meals, covid-safe food distribution system so those with lesser means and/or at higher risk, medium risk, I don’t care risk, or just plain don’t want to get sick risk can stay in their home with free internet and meals delivered. Everyone else WHO CHOOSES, can go back about their lives. Why is you don’t see the difference where one point of view gives everyone a choice, the other point of view forces a choice on everyone?

  6. Crystal, let people make their own decisions. As you said, these are “guidelines, many of which have changed and are useless. If citizens want to support that business they are free to do so. Why would we let the CDC, Fauci, Angsorm, and other non-elected “officials” to make laws up for us? We have enough of that already from Newsom and our city council? Stay home and wear a mask if that’s want you want to do and have your supplies delivered. It’s a dangerous world and there are risks out there so, people like you are free to “stay home and stay safe”, otherwise you might get cooties.

  7. Right on @11:14. Un-elected officials are making blanket rules for the state and nation to follow while our governor takes broad powers well beyond the authority granted to him in the constitution. How many lives and livelihoods need to be destroyed before we say enough is enough!?

  8. Crystalandmuai, California has 29 codes that result in more than 30,000 laws. About 18,000 of those were passed during Brown’s terms alone. Newsom is close to adding 1000 since then. In fact, we have almost double the laws of the next blue state, New York. How many do you think you break in the course of the day? I have heard the average citizen breaks three federal laws a day alone, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s 10 here. The CDC doesn’t make laws, and many of the laws in California directly violate Federal law and the Constitution. Please let people get on with their lives and we desperately need herd immunity to do that.

  9. @12:50 Not sure what color the sky is in your world, but you cannot halt the economy. Have you not seen the lines of cars waiting to get food across this country? Businesses are closing, people are losing their livelihoods. You cannot halt the economy forever because you are scared. Who do you expect to pay for food, rent, healthcare and the essentials you mentioned so the country can stay at home? Life is hard, there are risks. Those at risk should stay home, those that can work should be allowed to go back to work. The prison is grossly inflating our numbers here. There has not been one instance of our hospitals being over capacity. We have 450,000K people in this county, 11 have died. We are not New York City. We need to get our lives and our city back. And before you start judging, I despise Donald Trump and his corrupt cabinet. Thinking that everyone has the luxury of staying locked up forever is ignorant, impractical and impossible.

  10. According to the many graphs and charts available, including the NY Times state-by state maps, there are some observations to be made. Using two states as examples, you can draw your conclusions about opening up or staying closed, and which restrictions you’d like to see removed or continued, using the oft-mentioned “science, data, and logic” arguments. I will use these two states: 1) California has remained relatively constant in terms of both cases and deaths per capita, the latter being the most important of course, using some of the harshest lockdown, mask, and social distancing rules nationally, and the first to institute these orders. 2) Georgia is decreasing in deaths and has been relatively constant in cases per capita, while opening much sooner and removing many of the restrictions on April 24, amid “terrifyingly premature” claims from the media. Which shall we have for our population and businesses here?

  11. Mac, many states have been “fudging” data – and those deaths directly caused by COVID-19 go down, not up. Look at Colorado – an inquiry resulting in a lawsuit forced them to reveal the real numbers – and the death rate was revised downward by 23% from 1150 to 878. Georgia has gone down 31% since reopening – that is deaths, not cases, and a huge difference between deaths and cases, as I have stated many times. Revised and now accurate data indicates states with the longest shutdowns have the highest number of deaths per 100k of population (an average of 32 deaths per 100k and that includes California) and states with none or the shortest have the lowest number of deaths (an average 5/8 deaths per 100k, respectively, including Texas and Florida.) But go ahead and believe the lies perpetrated by governments locally, statewide, and nationally and the MSM media outlets if you so choose. 12. MAC, you are an extreme liberal and their is no doubt Blaze is extreme right. But your source, VOX, is extreme left. Choose your poison, you can argue with their opinons, but in this case you can’t argue with the data Blaze reported which is based on facts.

  13. BO – Sorry, but the Blaze article is in no way based on facts. You can see for yourself at the Johns Hopkins site. Select the state from the drop-down menu, and select the graph for deaths or confirmed, your choice. True, the right wing tends to characterize University sources as “smart people are biased”, but that’s only because the cons have been pandering to the uneducated for decades. Perhaps that should tell you something.

  14. MAC, thanks for that link to JHU. Interesting that both JHU and World of Meters shows deaths going down, while cases have flattened in the U.S, even with increased testing. So you just proved my points. Thanks for agreeing with me!

  15. SAM, if you really need to get to work so bad and get off of the dole – why can’t you take a front line position? Are you too proud? Ego in your way? There are actually a lot of job opportunities in town for essential workers. Maybe get off your hide and get out there.

  16. There have been a few articles discussing the observation that no spike in cases is occurring in states that have started to ease the lockdown. In my opinion we met the objective: we stunted the growth in cases and kept the hospitals from getting overwhelmed with patients. As community members we did our job, now the government needs to do its job to ease things up in a speedier fashion. Don’t let them move the goal posts to say we need a vaccine before we open up. That wasn’t the deal. After opening up, there’s nothing stopping you from remaining in your home too terrified to venture out. You’re welcome to stay home as long as you want. *** https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2020/05/why-no-spike-as-states-reopen.php

  17. You obviously have your own agenda, I did not say you have to close your business, I said keep people safe, have your costumers wear a mask, and limit how many Are in your store at one time. Obviously that’s to much for you.
Look Mr. Selfish, you can’t guarantee how this virus will affect people. So let’s try to be as safe as we can.

  18. Wow, obviously you or a family member hasn’t had this virus, when you have someone in The hospital by themselves and hoping they survive this. Tell me then your about your selfish opinion.
I know your entitled to do what you want, this is the USA, WOW PEOPLE HERE TAKE EVERYTHING FOR GRANTED, EVEN LIFE. WELL YOU DONT HAVE THE RIGHT TO TAKE MY LIFE. DO WHAT IS NEEDED TO KEEP OTHERS SAFE AND YOURSELF.

  19. Its unfortunate the face covering issue has been made political. It’s a proven way to reduce spread of droplets, and thereby reduce disease transmission. Why not open most businesses but require face coverings? The more vulnerable people can wear N95s masks for the best protection, or continue to stay home, get deliveries. Less vulnerable can get back to business, and if we test often we can pull back before spikes get out of hand. Dine-in restaurants, bars, and hair salons may still be a problem, but many businesses could be managed to operate with low risk. But it seems the “open now” crowd has too many “masks are a communist plot” nuts.

  20. @ 12:50, you’re calling for a revolution and to toss out what quickly made our country the greatest and strongest in the world, and has kept us there for hundreds of years. With how poorly our elected officials have managed this country the past 10-20 years, on both sides of the isle, the ever increasing partisanship with little interest in coming together and doing what’s best for all their constituents rather than just the one side or the other, YOUR ANSWER IS TO GIVE THEM MORE POWER OVER OUR LIVES?

  21. Nothing exemplifies the current era of manufactured stupidity and willful ignorance more than this pandemic and the partisan divide intentionally inserted in order to create chaos and instill uncertainty among the less capable… Its rather sad that a lot of our fellow citizens are so easily manipulated by for profit entertainers masquerading as journalists. Its a clear divide and a litmus test. On one side is science, education and reason. On the other is ignorance, hate and unsubstantiated claims and “feelings”. The Free-Dumb crowd. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| In American you are free to be as stupid as you like, but you are not free from the personal consequences that comes from your choices. Be an idiot, that’s your choice but be prepared for the blow-back and know that you will not be protected by the rule of law let alone the laws of the universe. Viruses dont care about your feelings or your naive interpretation of the rule of law or assumed liberties. But most importantly, know that you do not have the “rights” you think you do. Sure, they may exist in theory, but to win those victories you’ll spend years in court, and millions on legal fees to maybe, just maybe win… So dont wear a mask, if you choose. Take the risk but know that you are doing many people a favor by self selecting and even better, allowing the insurance companies to put you on the short list… Yes, your actions, your words the Memes, all of your social media are being gathered, logged and analyzed in order to provide a more accurate assessment of your value and your health. But you MAGA geniuses already knew that, right?

  22. @7:40, I have a job. I’m being vocal for others, for my community, because I don’t want to see the city I grew up in with all the hard working small businesses I work with, are friends with, or patron completely destroyed.

  23. Yes Georgia – woo hoo really healthy state. Get out there and touch all those doorknobs and then go to a birthday party. In Georgia over the last 14 days (4/30-5/13), the average daily increase in newly reported deaths was 27.50. Over the last 14 days, the average daily increase in newly confirmed cases was 654.79. Over the last 14 days, the average daily increase in new patients was 80.14. Now mind you this is while schools are closed – and while the governor extended the stay at home order for the elderly and medically fragile until mid-june. So you can’t really substantiate your opinion as the state is not fully open.

  24. You’re on track Ahchoo, no one is saying open up recklessly. regarding :But it seems the “open now” crowd has too many “masks are a communist plot” nuts. There is no middle grown for many on here, it’s either you’re with them and toe the line of what our all knowing Democratic leaders say, or your a AR-15 carrying, camo wearing, MAGA fanatic, it’s either one or the other. For a group so adverse to putting labels on people they’re great at putting them in one box or the other. We should always be questioning our government and ensuring their actions coincide with our best interest and not their latest power grab. The Democrats historically have been the one to question our government, but now they talk down to those who choose take a common sense approach and speak out when they feel their rights and livelihoods are being threatened not by a virus but by the political response to that virus.

  25. “In the latest bungling of tracking data for the novel coronavirus, a recently posted bar chart on the Georgia Department of Public Health’s website appeared to show good news: new confirmed cases in the counties with the most infections had dropped every single day for the past two weeks. In fact, there was no clear downward trend. The data is still preliminary, and cases have held steady or dropped slightly in the past two weeks. Experts agree that cases in those five counties were flat when Georgia began to reopen late last month.”

  26. Agreed Ahchooo. I actually feel safer wearing a face mask. If we are going to open up and get the economy booming again we MUST do it safely. The communist plot in my book is not giving us a chance to open safely, when we did indeed flatten the curve and are not having any overcrowded hospital issues.

  27. Sam, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. You and your pack of rabid canines can roam freely after you sign an agreement stating that A) if you infect anyone you will be financially responsible ($100k for trimming 10-13 years off their life) or B) if said infection leads to death you will be charged with murder. You are that confident in yourself, correct? Sign it and roam free!

  28. The medical professionals will suffer from the decisions that we make going forward. Maybe we should all take shifts helping the “essential” workers in the hospitals and grocery stores so the risk is spread equitably. If you’re not wearing a mask or socially distancing per the advice of pandemic experts, then I hope you have the moral courage to stay away from hospitals if you do become severely ill. Seems unlikely, though.

  29. Keep businesses closed. Don’t allow tourism. I simply don’t want essential workers exposed to people coming from hotspot areas. I don’t want anyone exposed to a carrier who then can transmit the disease to others. I don’t want to see my friends and family infected with the disease that could kill them or leave them with long-term Health consequences. I don’t want to see a family member or friend kill someone close to them. It’s best to keep the economy at a halt. We need to pass laws that will protect our poor, cover healthcare, food, rent and the essentials while we figure out a way to retrain people for an economy that will open up in the future. We need to tax the wealthy and corporations that got massive corporate tax brakes we should have never allowed while they low-wage jobs and or offshored decent decent paying jobs. We need to change the entire dynamics of the countrys economy and we can do this if we’re smart. Most importantly, we need to get the sycophants following the orange dude in the WH and a few senators with an R out of office. We need people that will follow the law I’m not go after political enemies were turned a blind eye because of fear.
