A 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Ventura early Thursday morning.
Ventura residents reported feeling the shake around 2:00 a.m. Official reports show it struck at 2:12 a.m. approximately 25km south of Port Hueneme.
The US Geological Survey received reports of feeling the quake from San Luis Obispo to San Diego.
A tsunami alert was not activated.
