Vegetation Fire Burns in Los Olivos

At approximately 5:10 p.m. this afternoon, a vegetation fire burned roughly a quarter of an acre of light grass and brush at the 2600 block of North Refugio Road in Los Olivos.

Santa Barbara County Fire Chief Dave Zaniboni reported crews on the ground were quick to surround the blaze and were ultimately able to contain it at a quarter acre before it could expand.

Zaniboni also stated the helicopter unit called in to assist with was cancelled, and the fire was contained by 5:45 p.m.  Crews stayed on site to ensure all the hot spots were taken care of and assisted with clean up. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened or damaged.
