Assault Near Upper State Street
...all those apartments on Broadmoor and Richland USED to be rented out to paying renters of Santa Barbara.... The SB Housing Authority took them all over and now they are subsidized half-way houses for parolees from all over the State, recovering drug and alcohol abusers and housing for homeless... To say that Northside neighborhood demographic has changed is an understatement.

Dates for Board of Supervisors Housing Element Rezone Hearings Announced
Well I’d say this - why keep building? Let the market do its thing. If someone can’t afford a place to live here where they work, or where they wanna live after college, or whatever … then they will have to decide the pluses and minuses of their choice of where they live and work. There are A LOT of other places to live besides Santa Barbara. Let’s not ruin it. Who cares if real estate sales are stagnant because there’s no inventory? So what? You could repeal Prop 13 if you wanted to liberate a lot of inventory for the realtors to feast upon, but that’s probably not going to happen. There’s no “solving it” through building for the masses. That’s a recipe to ruin. Remember what Newsom is next time you vote.

ALEX - eh, I disagree. It's been pretty civilized here since you left, at least until GOLETALOCAL broke down to troll mode during what started as a mature, interesting conversation affordable housing. Check the Penalty Comments for that clown show. Heck, even BASIC was able to post a few adult comments over the past weeks. I guess the civility only has a few week lifespan.

LOL, took a break for a while. Came back. And it is literally the same people endlessly repeating and arguing about the same shit. I guess shut up and vote ain't it. See ya in a while when you will be doing exactly the same pointless stuff.

GOLETA - are you simple? Seriously asking. You claim to be able to spend all day on edhat responding to me in every single comment AND have a "10 hour" job, yet you really believe no one else is capable of the same thing? You're just a hypocrite. Nothing more. I need prove NOTHING to you.

Never been on a cruise. You however? I don't believe a word you type. You are a troll who spends his days typing away on Edhat. Utterly pathetic. You have the nerve to tell people you are putting 2 kids through college? Child please. Little liar at best.

Wow? Never said anything about working hard, and you know nothing about that. Cops, nurses, DA's, Public defenders, paramedics all make decent salaries? If they want to work here and made the CHOICE to do so, or go elsewhere. Simple economics. Lucky? Hardly. hard work let me stay here while most of the people I know had to move due to cost of living. That is reality, but you know nothing about that.

Ultimate troll there, bub. Let us know when you learn how to count instead of matching me comment for comment while you're supposed to be working at your "10 hour" job. Hypocrite.
Cachuma Lake on Sunday
The lake was nice on Sunday. Beautiful weekend up there. The Nature Center Trout Derby didn’t get to stock trout this year, however. They were shafted by the CA DFW and US Fish and Wildlife managers who apparently feel that stocked trout can get washed over the spillway and interbreed with native steelhead.
