Wallet Stolen From Grocery Cart

By an edhat reader

My wallet was stolen from Whole Foods Market on upper State Street during the lunch hour on 9/19/18. This occurred while I was shopping and I had my cart with me. They lifted it right out of my purse. Within minutes they were at Apple and Nordstrom attempting to purchase items. Luckily I was able to call and stop all credit cards. If this happens to you be sure to file police report and I highly recommend Costco’s ID program through Experian called Complete ID for ongoing monitoring. It is only $9/month.

  1. I have numerous times pointed out to women how negligent it is to have their purse sitting open in the top rack of a shopping cart. Usually I am met with a “Mind your own business” or a look as if I were planning to steal it. The last time I mentioned it to a gal in Trader Joe’s she replied “Oh, I know, I had my wallet stolen in here a few months back.” Yet she was STILL leaving her purse there, open, turning her back on it and walking down the aisle. Can’t fix stupid. I blame the fact that women’s pants often don’t have enough pockets for a wallet and keys, and that women are so desperate to look slim they won’t wear bulky things in pockets if they do have them.

  2. :-/ you left a wallet in the cart? Why??? That’s lacking common sense or just viewing the world through rosey glasses…
its almost the same as just throwing it out the window as you drive down the road….keep your money on your person.
