Decedent : Unidentified Male, Mid-30s, Unknown City of Residence

Narrative:

On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 4:20 PM, Ventura County Fire Department and Naval Base Ventura County Fire Department responded to the Sandy Dune Beach on Pacific Coast Highway for a deceased person who came ashore.

When firefighters arrived, they medically evaluated the male subject and pronounced him deceased at the scene. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the situation and began the initial investigation.

Sheriff’s Major Crime Investigators and the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene for the investigation.  The male subject has not been positively identified.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Bureau investigate all deaths that are suspicious in nature as a matter of practice.  The investigation is still on going.
