UCSB ROTC Intro Flight

The military uses SBA to train many times throughout the year. Just a couple of weeks ago, there were a couple of V22 Ospreys flying in and out of SBA. Why would anyone worry?

Very impressive aircraft, the Osprey. When I was in the Marine Corps, it was just a concept. Very cool to actually see them in person.

There was another V22 Osprey a few days ago. I don't know if it landed, but I saw it go around a couple of times.

So that's what was causing all the racket for hours. Next time--if there is one--a little thought and some consideration would say don't do it over heavily populated areas.

I too wondered why my windows were rattling. Figured it was vaccine deliveries to GVCH.

For hours these large kinds of hellicopters were passing low over Ellwood and I posted a question to Edhat about it, but my question was not posted. If I'd known it was just the ROTC students making so many flights in these large transport hellicopters, I would not have worried. There was nothing about them in the newspapers or KEYT that I saw that afternoon or evening. Was I the only one who tried to post a question about them? Why was there no notice about such an unusual event, or did I just miss it? Thank you!
