Two Injured in El Capitan Collision

Two people sustained minor injuries after a vehicle collision on Highway 101 Saturday evening.

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to northbound lanes near El Capitan Ranch Road for a reported collision. 

A pick-up truck and a Subaru had crashed into one another causing the truck to rollover.

The male driver of the truck was able to self-extricate while the female driver of the Subaru required extensive extraction by responding firefighters.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital for treatment.

Highway 101 northbound lanes were closed for a period of time.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
