The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) airlifted a toddler from a cruise ship off the Santa Barbara coast last week for a medical emergency.

The moving Princess Cruises’ Emerald Princess ship was about 90 miles off the coastline on Wednesday, May 24, when a 3-year-old girl began experiencing “seizure-like symptoms,” according to the USCG

The USCG MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter hovered above the ships swimming pool and play area on the top deck to lower an aircrew member, as shown by bodycam footage.

The child was seated on a gurney with her mother as they were assisted by nearby medical staff.

Footage shows the toddler was handed a teddy bear then placed in a metal basket with her mother and lifted into the helicopter.

They were transported to UCLA Medical Center where the child was listed in stable condition, reports to the USCG.
