Temporary Road Closure on Los Olivos Street

Source: City of Santa Barbara

Pavement grind and overlay on Los Olivos Street between Laguna Street and Mission Canyon Road will begin on Monday, September 30 and will conclude on Tuesday, October 1. This two- day roadway work, which is part of a larger pavement maintenance project in progress throughout the City, will create a smooth, high-quality road surface in front of the Old Mission.

There will be a temporary road closure on Los Olivos Street between Laguna Street and Mission Canyon Road for the pavement grind portion of the work on September 30 from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. On October 1, Los Olivos will be closed in the same area from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. for the asphalt overlay. Detours in the surrounding areas will be in effect to minimize construction duration and ensure the least disruption to normal traffic flow, though drivers should expect delays in the area. No parking signs will be posted at least 72 hours prior to construction.

The City has contracted with Granite Construction to perform the grind and overlay work, which is funded by Measure C. For more information about your local sales tax at work, visit www.SantaBarbaraCA.gov/MeasureC.
