Suspects Detained Near Panga Boat Landing at Arroyo Hondo Beach

As of 12:15, Sheriffs and CHP are looking for a white Ford 350 van that was seen picking up three subjects on 101 north of the panga landing and heading north on 101. Deputies have also spotted another subject hiding in trees near Arroyo Hondo . So far 15 are in custody, with as many as 5 more still hiding in the area, so there could be up to 23 people involved if the three picked up on 101 were actually involved.

Likely both human trafficking and drug running. ICE and Border Patrol are with Sheriffs now and will sort out the charges. I would think DEA is also involved. Possible that the boat driver and any 'crew' will be federally charged in both areas, with the rest sent home, wherever that is, after booking.

I saw that exact boat floating empty Saturday morning at around the same time in the morning closer to El Capitan. I know it was the same boat because it was a blue panga. Sounds like those people got ashore, but I wonder where that boat went then. Maybe their's more coming then.
