Benn shopping there for at least 30 years. The original owners and the new ones always so friendly, and such a wide selection of foods from many cultures, best I’ve found in town. I hope they find these guys. Five burglars in such a small store, they must have known they needed the manpower.

This hurts. Very sad, indeed. Have been going there for at least three decades. Saw original owner's kids graduate UCSB and have their own kids. They sold a couple of years ago to current owners. Also, lovely folks, helpful. with knowledge of many cuisines. Wish them full recovery.

No point having a safe without securing it to the floor. You could of had $10,000 hidden in a shoebox next to that safe and the thief's wouldn't of even bothered to look because the safe it able to be carried off

Millimesa, you’ve obviously never been through the insane process of trying to get the building permit required to properly attach a safe to the floor in Santa Barbara county (I assume that the city of Goleta is just as draconian). Played with the idea once when remodeling our noleta home. With the extra engineering and fees required it just didn’t make sense. For a commercial property I can only suppose that it’s ten times worse and as icing on the cake, the details of the safe and its installation become a matter of public record.
