Suspect Arrested in Lompoc Homicide Investigation

*****INVESTIGATION UPDATE*****

Lompoc Police identified the suspect in the shooting death of 34-year-old Jordan Savard, which occurred on 11/29/21, in the 200 block of South Third Street. On 11/30/21, the suspect, Daniel Birdsell 21-years-old, was arrested in San Diego County with the assistance of the Oceanside Police Department for murder.

On 12/01/21, Birdsell was transported back to Santa Barbara County and booked into Lompoc PD Jail for murder. The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Lompoc Police Department Detective Bureau at 805-875-8120.

Summary :
On 11/29/21, at approximately 2:17 PM, Lompoc Police Department Officers responded to the 200 block of South Third Street for a report of shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located a 34 year old, male victim. Officers and medics rendered medical aid to the victim. Medics attempted to transport the victim to a local trauma center, but unfortunately the victim passed away during the medical transport. This incident is not believed to be gang related. This is an ongoing investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact the LPD Detective Bureau.
