Structure Fire Displaces Resident in Cuyama

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a structure fire in Cuyama on Thursday evening.

At 9:38 p.m., crews arrived in the 4800 block of Sisquoc Street and discovered smoke coming from a single family residence. 

The fire was knocked down within twelve minutes and confined to the kitchen area by county firefighters from the recently opened Fire Station 27.

A working smoke detector in the building alerted a neighbor who promptly called 9-1-1.

One resident is displaced due to the fire. There were no injuries reported.

The cause is under investigation.
