State Route 246 Resurfacing
A project to resurface State Route 246 from the Santa Rosa Creek Bridge to Hapgood Road East will resume on Monday, June 3.
Motorists will encounter the closure of the No. 1 (left) lane in both directions of Hwy. 246 between Hapgood Road East to Domingos Road Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 4 pm. Delays should not exceed 10 minutes.
The contractor for this $2 million project is Granite Construction of Santa Barbara, CA. This project is expected to be complete this June.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.

Pedestrian Improvements
A project to improve safety for pedestrians near Highway 246 in Buellton will begin on Monday, June 3.
This project includes the installation of rectangular illuminated flashing beacons which will alert motorists when approaching a pedestrian crosswalk. This project will include improvements to the crosswalk striping and new signs.
Construction on Highway 246 in Buellton will include a median island refuge for pedestrians, the addition of a dedicated left turn lane at La Lata Drive and new crosswalk striping.
Motorists will encounter lane closures at each location Monday through Friday from 8 am until 4 pm with delays not to exceed five minutes. Alternate pedestrian access will be constructed where needed.
These improvements will include nine other locations in the Lompoc area and a section of Highway 1 between Morro Bay and Cayucos. Construction at these locations will begin in August or early September with exact dates and times to be announced. These projects are being funded through the Caltrans Highway Safety Program.
The contractor for this $500,000 project is the R Burke Company and Lee Wilson Electric Company of San Luis Obispo.
