By the edhat staff

SpaceX performed another sucessful launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Wednesday afternoon.

At 1:09 p.m. a Falcon 9 rocked launched 51 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East.

The first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched Space Development Agency’s Tranche 0 and one Starlink mission. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean.

A webcast of the mission is available below:

  1. We were having a catered lunch (tacos with hand-made corn tortillas and alllll the trimmings….mezcal of course) for Mother’s Day by/in the pool/spa when we heard all the “noise.” We never saw the actual rocket, but no one in my family has great eyesight. Hopefully, no one’s animals flipped/freaked out during the rumble shakey-shakey time. Our dogs are pretty “solid” when it comes to noise/distractions, so they pretty much just sat there chewing their treats. Simply LOVE the launches and we are so lucky to be so close to them.

    • It really depends on atmospheric conditions at the time of launch. Even on a clear sunny day there are temperature/humidity layers that reflect or contain the sound waves closer to the ground. Still very impressive to be able feel the shudder in your chest from 25+ miles away in SB. Starship/Super Heavy must absouteltly incredible.
