SMPD Detectives Arrest Santa Maria Man for Attempted Murder

On 09/27/18 at approx. 0454 hours, SMPD patrol officers responded to a report of an assault victim at a residence in the city of Santa Maria. Upon arrival, officers fo

und a victim who had been struck multiple times with a sharp object. The victim was treated at Marian Hospital for what were determined to be non-life threatening injuries. 

The suspect was identified as Isaac Ramirez 3/17/96, a resident of Santa Maria. A warrant was issued for his arrest for attempted murder. SMPD Detectives continued the investigation and determined that Ramirez was possibly in the area of Buellton, in Santa Barbara County.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s was contacted for assistance in locating Ramirez. Deputies, a K-9 Officer and the Sheriff’s Department Air unit assisted in searching for Ramirez in the area of Buellton. SMPD Detectives and Officers from the SMPD Special Enforcement Team also responded to the area to search for Ramirez.

SBSO Deputies located Ramirez after a citizen reported a suspicious person in the area. He was taken into custody by SBSO Deputies and SMPD Detectives without incident. He was later booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for attempted murder.
