[On Monday] morning at the Sheriff’s Office Training Bureau classroom, Sheriff Brown welcomed 10 new members to the Sheriff’s Office team. The new hires include Administrative Office Professional Virginia Villarreal, Utility Worker Tristin Fichtner, Utility Worker Gerry Ortiz, Administrative Office Professional Luz Chavez, Administrative Office Professional Lashawn Madison, Sheriff’s Service Technician Jasmin Cruz, Sheriff’s Service Technician Nicholas Monteleone, Sheriff’s Service Technician Danny Wang, Building Maintenance Supervisor Wayne Motyer, and Air Support Pilot Loren Courtney.
All of these new team members will be joining the ranks of professional staff that make up almost a third of the Sheriff’s Office staff. They will work in various units and locations including Sheriff’s Headquarters, the Main Jail and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff and Fire Air Support Unit.
