Sewer Line Replacement at Storke Road

Source: City of Goleta

Goleta West Sanitary District will be replacing a sewer line at the intersection of Storke Road and Phelps Road. The anticipated schedule is as follows, subject to utility and/or construction delays:

  • Between Tuesday, February 18, 2020, and Friday, February 21, 2020, the work will require that both northbound lanes on Storke Avenue be closed between Whittier Drive and just north of Phelps Road during the daytime.  Northbound traffic will be rerouted to the southbound side of the road, leaving one lane of southbound and one lane of northbound traffic open for travel during daytime work operations.  The traffic control will be modified during non-working hours to maintain one northbound and one southbound lane open on each side of road. Phelps Road, east of Storke Road, will remain closed during this time with a detour for vehicles traveling east on Phelps Road.

  • Between Monday, February 24, 2020, and Thursday, February 27, 2020, one northbound and one southbound lane will be closed between Whittier Drive and just north of Phelps Road.  Phelps Road, east of Storke Road, will remain closed during this time with a detour for vehicles traveling east on Phelps Road.

  • The final phase of the project will include replacing the sewer line on Phelps Road, west of Storke Road, to Pacific Oaks Road. This phase of work is scheduled to begin on Friday, February 28, 2020, and will require the westbound lanes on Phelps Road to be closed during the work, allowing only eastbound traffic to Storke Road.  The entire project is anticipated to be completed by April 2020.
