Saving Honeybees

By an edhat subscriber
While up at Shoreline Park a couple days ago I saw the lengths to which some of us will go to help honeybees. It was extremely heartening to see this area cordoned off and the bait box/bait hive box in place. The bait box has the queen bee within and is awaiting her followers to join her. Hooray for saving bees!

Nov 02, 2017 06:58 PMCounty Animal Services (the stray shelter) also referred callers to bee rescuers going back to mid-aughts; as I can attest.
Thank you SB bee rescuers!! And whomever posted this.

Nov 02, 2017 11:14 AMThe city of Santa Barbara is bee friendly and has saved numerous bee colonies when they are on city property and might pose a risk to residents. Because of their good example many other government agencies and property management companies have followed suit. They have realized that in addition to the benefits of saving the bees it ends up costing less in the long run to hire a professional bee removal company. #savethebees
