Santa Maria Shooting Suspect Arrested in SLO County

On Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at about 11:30 P.M. Officers responded to the report of a shooting that occured in the area of W. Colebrook and N. Barrington.  When officers arrived they found an adult male suffing major injuries sustained during the shooting.  The victim was transported to a local medical facility for  treatment.  

Detectectives began the investigative process and over the course of several weeks were able to determine the party responsible for the shooting was Manuel Armando Sanchez, 22, of Nipomo.  

Detectives worked with the Santa Barabara District Attorney’s Office and obtained an arrest warrant for Sanchez.  Over the past weekend Sanchez was taken into custody in San Luis Obsipo County for unrelated charges and during the booking process was discovered to have the outstanding warrant for attempted murder.  San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Department notified the Santa Maria Police Department Detective of the arrest.
