Santa Maria High Briefly Locked Down Amid Nearby Shooting

Shooting Investigation underway. Santa Maria High School locked down briefly as a precaution.

On Friday, September 29, 2023 at around 1230 hrs, a shooting was reported in the area of 200 W. Park St.

Due to its proximity, Santa Maria High School was briefly placed in lockdown as a precaution.

There is no known connection to the school and there are no victims at this time. There is no ongoing threat to public safety.

Residents are requested to contact SMPD with any information.
