The National Weather Service reports rain with the possibility of thunderstorms to continue Monday.

At 6:30 a.m., an emergency alert was issued for the Alisal Fire burn area due to the potential of flooding and debris flow. Two hours later the alert was cancelled.

The National Weather Service then issued a flash flood warning through 8:45 a.m.

As of 8:00 a.m. Monday, the county’s flood control district calculated 1.18 inches in Santa Barbara and over two inches for the San Marcos Pass.

On Monday morning, Caltrans announced the number two (right) lane of northbound Highway 101 is closed near Sheffield Drive due to a pothole.

Caltrans discovered an issue with a drainage system under the highway which needs to be addressed in addition to the pothole. There is no estimate for the re-opening of the No. 2 northbound lane.

Motorists are reminded to drive safely and be aware of Caltrans highway workers on the roadway.
